Guess Who’s Back
Couple of weeks back I did a post about how I was coming back to shooting. Not full-time, probably not even part-time, but just coming back to doing what I know I am meant to do.
Well, after a week of typical June weather here in the UK (dodging rain showers and wind), I was able to get back to shooting some portraits of someone I had never worked with before.
All in all, the shoot went really well considering the situation we had; originally we had planned a beach shoot similar to another I did last year. However, in typical fashion, the weather simply did not want to cooperate.
After a bit of a last-minute plan, we came up with a far simpler idea to both brush off the rust of a small dark alternative style car park shoot. Really taking it back to 2016. After a few hours and around 120 shots, both Shannon and I were happy with the shots and confirmed we were in fact friends for life.
It felt really nice to be back shooting portraits like this. Interacting with people has never been a strong suit of mine as I have always been slightly awkward. But when it comes to shooting, I suddenly feel the anxiety fade, and I become so intensely confident and proud of what I am doing, almost like a new person is behind the camera
