Heal and Grow

Not just a quote from Peep Show. Something we definitely need to do in life, both personally and professionally.

Professionally, I think it’s important to grow both in terms of your business and in terms of your talent. Ideally, the growth of your talent will lead to the growth of your business.

Now I am not going to sit here and write about how much money I made in photography, as to be honest, it is a shamefully low amount given the number of years I have done it. I never made a profit ever. Any money I got for my work went straight back into the love of the craft. By doing this, I realised I never wanted to make money. I love photography, and when it comes to things you love, money should never cross your mind. Or at least not with the way my mind works.

I’ve had some ups and downs over the past month or so, going back to a job I swore I never would go back to. My partner and I had a medical emergency, which took a few weeks of our lives to get over. Combine that with a depressive episode and my grandfather's passing away, you could say it’s been straining at the very least.

Still, I have been out trying to make images; it’s the only thing I truly know how to do. On the advice of my therapist, I have also been told it is a good thing to occupy my mind when I start to feel the lows coming in towards me. I was also greeted by the news that I had a photo published in a skateboarding magazine that can be found here for anyone who would like to buy a copy.

So you could say I’m in a constant state of change and evolution at the moment, and as such, healing and growing are the only real ways I can think. Have some photos below.
