So I realise the past few months, I havenāt found photography even nearly as fun as I previously have. I've worked out this is because I've been considering photography as work and don't currently have a project to work on.
Suddenly, on a late grey Monday, it hit me: photography used to be my hobby and escape from work. Then it turned into something else and started causing more problems than it solved.
So I decided to change that; I released all the pressure I had on myself to find the next project and simply started shooting photos because I liked them. Not to tell a story or work into a book, simply just to take them. I decided that whilst I love digital photography and it has helped me both professionally and personally, I am a film shooter through and through. I will still use digital for portrait sessions; however, just as there, it makes sense, but I may start to do those less and less.
From now on, I will shoot to enjoy the process, not worry about the result or put any pressure on a new project.
Below is my monthly video on this subject, along with a gallery of all the work shown in it, plus some extras.
