Busy Body
Feel like I haven’t written on here in ages. Truth be told I’ve gotten a tad busy doing the thing I love and have neglected this page. However I am trying to stick with things longer than I normally would and refuse to let this blog fall behind just because I don’t always have the time to do it.
Been around a month and I have booked in many a shoot and got a trip coming up to take my mind off work and the 9-5 and hopefully shoot some film again. I’ve been sticking to digital recently. Mainly due to film prices but also as it allows me to create without the need to count the pennies. One camera one zoom lens and I am good to go feels nice not needing a light meter spare rolls ect. Also the camera I use is a full frame professional DSLR so not like I’m losing quality when I am out and about. Having both colour and black and white in one body and one shot is quite nice also.
This upcoming trip to Newcastle however I intend to use digital and medium format film. Theory being I have limited shots for film 12 shots of black and white 12 shots of colour. On the contrast I have unlimited digital ( or until the batteries run out ).
This hopefully will still give me the quality of work I am after but allow me to count the pennies less as I can shoot a test shot before the slowed down film one. Everything else in life has been lining up nicely. I have started doing small amounts of content on Instagram again and am slowly coming back to feeling better about my photography. Therapy has been helping me establish a good amount of self esteem and I hope that continues with doing more and more shoots and meeting new people.
This has been a bit of a diary entry/catch up and I apologies for not having any real amount of sage wisdom for you this time round. Next time I’ll make sure to have lots of tips handy and get them to you. Below please enjoy some shots I’ve taken recently mainly portrait shoots involving motorcycles, burlesque performers and queer DJ’s.
