Tips and Tricks

I see a lot of photographers out there offering tips and tricks. Spouting sage words of advice as if they are Eugene Smith come back to life to give us the final commandment missed off the original tablet.

I do this as well. I am self-aware and have enough artistic knowledge and education to offer insight to those in the early or mid stages of their photography journey. Those who are anywhere after that do not need tips or trick videos to enhance themself and their work. They already know what to do and how to do it.

My point from this is that my tip or trick is to avoid most tips or tricks. Strange, I know, but many people out there offer these tips and have no real clue why the tip works. Also, most of them didn’t come up with the trick and are simply relaying information passed down to them poorly.

Go and research the people offering you advice before just accepting it as gospel. Find out what qualifies them to speak on such things. What’s their background? Are they even as good as you? Are they better? Don’t believe what you read on the internet. Definitely don’t believe this blog either. What do I know?
